Phinix Immersive DarkUI

Author: Phinix

UPDATE: Version 1.2b now contains all the fixes for compatibility with Shivering Isles and Oscuro’s Oblivion Overhaul (including crashes related to cooldown icons and timers), which should eliminate all remaining issues. Thanks drmbs76 for pointing that our and providing a patch! I have included another optional patch in this version to realign some elements of the loading screen if you are using this interface with OWCND. (See readme.)

Also, check out my English translation of the aforementioned mod:
OWCND – Complete English Translation

This mod combines aspects of the best Oblivion interface mods to date, remixed and reworked to blend seamlessly together into one. It incorporates what the author feels to be the best of all features: a darker user interface, more items on screen (and more room to see them), better fonts, a less intrusive HUD with smaller icons and a quieter compass; plus it offers a number of its own improvements such as a cleaner layout with better overall alignment, resized and formatted menu items and fonts, a more “PC” loading bar, along with some additional optimizations, generally improving on the overall feel of the game.

I have incorporated a new sneak icon location (just above the compass) by default, and there is an optional alternative (see the “_extras” directory) centered on the crosshairs as it was originally.

Important: For those experiencing issues with fonts not lining up, or appearing in “handwriting” style, I have included detailed installation instructions in the readme which will prevent this problem from ever showing up. Basically, you must copy the font section I have included and replace the one in your INI file.

If you use Windows Vista or 7, make sure you edit the Oblivion.ini file in your MyDocuments/Games folder, NOT the one in the Oblivion folder itself, which is just the default. Also, you can put a single semicolon “;” before each line of the existing font section in your current INI to “comment it out,” and paste my font section below it. That way you can easily revert back by deleting mine and un-commenting the original.

Recommended Add-ons:

In addition to this interface I highly recommend installing the following mods to optimize the overall experience of Oblivion:

Color Cyrodil Terrain Map
Menu Video Replacement Scenery
